I was sent by Macleans Magazine to document the Tech Cafe happening in Oppenheimer Park. These are regular workshops where people who live in the DTES can go for help with anything tech-related. A few people needed help fixing their tablets, one was getting assistance with building a website for his artwork, and another just needed to Google something. It's a very valuable service and a really fun assignment.
I have been spending some time with some women in Vancouver who balance thier professions as sex workers with their roles as mothers, students, fiances, and volunteers. To start, I've been exploring how they decompress and what they do for self care.
Part of Olivia's self care routine is to have a long shower in the morning.
Carmen's daily routine starts with cuddles and meditation with her cat Esther.
Joclyn's self care routine includes Jiu Jitsu classes.
